Changes to Mobile Deposit Requirements

What’s new?

There have been recent changes to federal regulations that require banks and credit unions to update their mobile deposit procedures. Because of this, 1st United has modified our check endorsement requirements for mobile deposits.

What do I need to do?

Beginning September 1, 2018, checks being deposited through mobile and tablet apps require a new endorsement. As always, you will sign the back of your check and write your account number. Additionally, you will need to add “For mobile deposit only at 1st United Credit Union.” 

Why the change?

This new procedure is being implemented by financial institutions to limit the instances of duplicate check deposits. 

What if the check isn’t endorsed correctly?

If mobile deposit checks are not submitted with the proper endorsement beginning September 1, 2018, they could be rejected. Please be sure to endorse your check by signing your name and adding “For mobile deposit only at 1st United Credit Union.”
