Your Mobile Phone Can Be Your Wallet
October 9, 2017
Use your mobile device to make purchases with your 1st United Visa debit and credit cards.
What is a mobile wallet?
A mobile wallet allows you to carry your debit or credit card information in a digital form on your mobile device. Instead of using your physical plastic card to make purchases, you can pay with your smartphone, tablet, or smartwatch.
How does a mobile wallet work?
- Download the mobile wallet app for your phone (Samsung Pay instructions, Google Pay instructions, Apple Pay instructions)
- Add your 1st United Visa debit or credit card information to the mobile wallet
- When you check out at participating merchants, access the mobile wallet and choose your card
- If you’re making an in-store purchase, just hold your mobile device at the terminal
Rather than storing card numbers on your phone, all three apps tokenize your cards, making payments secure. Additionally, your Touch ID fingerprint or PIN is required for payment. For these reasons and others, if your phone is lost or stolen, your card data should be secure.
Give It a Try
Mobile wallets continue to make the purchase process easier and easier as the technology evolves. Your 1st United Visa debit and credit cards will work with other mobile wallets such as Visa Checkout or Starbucks.
