For the third consecutive year, 1st United Credit Union and  95.7 The GAME (KGMZ-FM) teamed up to support the Alameda County Community Food Bank with the Golden State Warriors “Hoops for Hunger” program.

Through Hoops for Hunger, 1st United committed to donate $1 to the Alameda County Community Food Bank for every basket the Warriors made during the regular season. This year, the Warriors rounded out the season with a total of 3,532 baskets, which means $3,532 will be donated.

1st United believes in supporting their local community and their hometown teams. In addition to Hoops for Hunger, 1st United has participated in the Oakland A’s Homeruns for Hunger for the past six years, committing to donate $50 for every home run the A’s hit to the Food Bank. To date, 1st United has donated over $55,000 to the Alameda County Community Food bank through the two programs.

According to the Alameda County Community Food Bank, 1 in 5 residents require food support. For 1st United, partnering with the Food Bank is a means to helping their neighbors. And being able to tie this effort in with local sports teams is an added bonus – members and employees enjoy rooting for their local teams; knowing that every basket or home run provides food for the community gives that spirit new meaning.

95.7 The GAME is the largest radio market FM Sports Station in California and the flagship radio station for the Oakland Athletics, Golden State Warriors, and Oakland Raiders.
